ROM 022: God’s Great Love [Video/Audio]

"Christianity 101" ... Romans 5:1-11, Part 2

As I read I reflect and admit the truth revealed about me.  It’s true that I had been completely rejecting God, and more than that, I was completely hostile to Him.  Yet, as I continue to read, something within me jumps and shouts and feels confused yet elated as I discover that in my most oppositional moment Jesus still loves me.  That’s true for you, too.  As oppositional as you may be (or may have been) God continues to pursue you because He loves you.  My hope is that today’s video/audio will affirm you and make you just as confused and elated as I can become.

This video/audio explores Romans 5:1-11 (part 2), highlighting God’s Great Love for us even when we were undeserving and hostile to Him.

  1. What I heard: We are only getting a small taste of what God has in store for us while we are here on this earth. God’s ultimate goal is that we one day go to be with him and share in the much greater reward of eternal life.

What does it mean: It means that even though I often feel overwhelmed and discouraged trudging through this existence, I need to try and focus on the bigger picture and remember that the trail has already been marked.

What do I do: That’s the hard one. Staying focused on where it all will lead, keeping to the trail, while not always understanding the journey, that takes a lot of effort. Keeping “my eye on the prize” calls for me to spend every opportunity I have with the designer of the plan. That’s the only way to stay focused.

    • I find it hard to stay focused on the bigger picture, too. I know that one day we’ll all be with Him, yet I spend a lot of time, effort and some money doing things without the big picture in mind. Thanks for the reminder!
